Privacy & Cookies

How this site handles your data. Last updated: 2026.
The short version. The tool itself stores nothing — your NIRF data never leaves your browser. The guide/landing page uses cookies for analytics and ads only if you accept. We never collect personal or institutional data.

1. The tool page (tool.html)

Everything you type into the NIRF self-assessment tool is processed entirely in your browser's memory. It is never uploaded, saved, logged, or shared, and is gone when you close or refresh the tab. The tool sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

The only network request the tool makes is an anonymous usage ping that adds 1 to a public counter. This request stores no IP address, no cookie, and none of your data — only a running total of how many times the tool has been used.

2. The guide / landing page (this site's home)

To keep the tool free, the guide page can show advertising and use analytics. These use cookies and are provided by third parties (e.g., Google AdSense, Google Analytics). They load only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you click “Decline,” no analytics or ad cookies are set.

3. DPDP Act 2023

We do not collect or process any personal or institutional data through the tool. Any analytics/ad data on the guide page is collected only with your consent and handled by the respective third parties as data processors. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser.
