NIRF, explained
by Chitranjan Jegadeesan

About this project

A free, honest way for Indian colleges to understand and estimate their NIRF score.

Why this exists

NIRF — the National Institutional Ranking Framework — decides how Indian colleges are publicly ranked, yet most tools that help with it are paywalled, login-walled, or opaque. Worse, many free spreadsheets floating around use the wrong weights and quietly mislead institutions.

This project does the opposite: it explains NIRF in plain English, and gives a free self-assessment tool that scores your institution the way NIRF does — and is honest about the limits.

What makes it different

Who built it

Chitranjan Jegadeesan — a Data Analyst & Full-Stack Developer. I built this entire tool and website myself, from the scoring engine to the design. My focus is accreditation and ranking analytics (NIRF, NAAC, NBA, AISHE) — turning messy official methodology into things people can actually use.

Available for data analytics, dashboards, web apps, automation and accreditation work — see the contact page.

Disclaimer. This is an unofficial, independent project, not affiliated with NIRF or the Ministry of Education. Scores are indicative self-assessment estimates, not official ranks. Always verify against the current methodology at nirfindia.org.
