By Chitranjan Jegadeesan · NIRF 2026 methodology

The marks live in the sub-metrics. Here's all 17, by parameter, with what each measures (Engineering marks shown).

TLR — Teaching, Learning & Resources (30%)

WDWomen Diversity30Women students (50%) & faculty (only 20% for full marks)
ESCSEcon./Socially Challenged20Students given full fee reimbursement
PCSDifferently-abled Facilities20Ramps, lifts, accessible toilets, aids

PR — Perception (10%)

A 100-mark survey of employers and academic peers. There's no formula and no transparency — the only honest lever is submitting accurate contact lists. Never canvass for votes (it can drop PR to zero).

Cheap-points tip: OI is admin-driven and often ignored — women faculty (20% benchmark) and accessibility facilities are some of the easiest marks in the whole framework.
